James Fraser was a crofter from Glen Urquhart - on the shores of Loch Ness, Inverness
He married Ann McDonald (Anne Nichols thinks Elizabeth Campbell) and apart from their daughter Jessie, they had at
least one son called Alexander who had a daughter called Maggie. The son, like
his father was a crofter who lived in Muir of Ord and his daughter Maggie is believed to
have attended Malbuie School, a one teacher school, which was about two miles away from
the croft. It appears that Alexander was a "good man", as he took in Elizabeth Munro
(nee MacKay) and her eight children, after her husband died in 1905. They apparently
lived there, until 1906 when they returned to Inverness. Alexander's daughter Maggie died
in 1905 or 1906 and was buried in Connon bridge cemetery.
